CreekSide Board of Directors Election

Greetings fellow CreekSide Co-op Member-Owners
It is a very exciting season for your CreekSide Co-op. We have come through the summer doldrums in better shape this year, with a strong management team, and energized staff, a desirable store with great products and increasing community energy to make CreekSide all it can be. An important part of this time of year is to do what we have done since our inception, which is to hold an election to fill vacancies on our Board of Directors. This year’s process commences today as we are seeking candidates to run for the Board. We have 9 open positions out of a total of 13 Board seats and we are seeking at least 12 total candidates. Of the 9 open positions, at least 5 current board members are running for another two-year term.
As CreekSide approaches the completion of its 5th year in business, a growing and developing preschooler if you will, we are seeking new Board members that bring the diversity, experience and expertise critical to leading this cooperative business, including in the following areas: advertising, business management, communications, community organizing, customer service and hospitality, finance and financial management, grocery and/or food management, human resources, information technology, marketing, operations, purchasing, social media and training. Cheltenham and the surrounding communities are wonderfully diverse from many perspectives and we encourage candidates for the Board who mirror that diversity. The more expertise we have on the board and the better we represent the whole community, the better we can set policy and be a resource to our General Manager.
What Do You Need to Do Now?
Please review the attached application and decide if you are ready to serve our community and Co-op on its Board. If the answer is yes, applications are being accepted through September 27th at 5PM. As a reminder, if you are interested in running for the board, we strongly suggest that you have a conversation with at least one current board member to get a sense of our challenges and opportunities and what it is like to serve on this board.
